Zoran Đukić at WIN Talk: 30 Years of Experience for the Next Generation

Zoran Đukić, founder and director of real estate agency Stoja Trade, shared his entrepreneurial story with young people at WIN Talk, an event organised by WIN Association at the Ljubljana University Incubator. His journey, from buying and selling his first garage to building Stoja over three decades, opened up a broader conversation: how to give young people the knowledge, support and opportunities they need to develop their potential.

From a First Garage to 30 Years of Stoja

Zoran’s entrepreneurial journey began with the purchase and sale of a garage. In 1996, he founded Stoja, which celebrates 30 years in the real estate industry in 2026.

Those years brought decisions, business relationships and lessons that shaped the company’s development. An initial idea gradually grew into a team, with new responsibilities and a need for more structured ways of working.

This transition, from managing his first deals to leading a company, was the starting point for Zoran’s appearance at WIN Talk. His story gives young people an insight into what is less visible when looking at an established business: the learning, persistence and decisions it takes to get there.

What Advice Does Zoran Đukić Give Young People Starting Out?

Zoran highlights sales, negotiation, financial understanding and the use of new technologies as valuable skills for young people. He places equal importance on good work habits, reliability and the way people treat others.

These qualities work together in everyday business. A good idea needs someone who can communicate it, understand its commercial value and follow through. Trust develops through working together and keeping commitments.

Young people today have access to more tools and ways of learning than were available when Zoran started. In his view, that makes choosing a direction and staying with it all the more important. Guidance from someone who has faced similar decisions and is willing to share their experience can make a meaningful difference.

Stoja Next Gen: Mentoring and Practical Opportunities for Young People

Stoja Next Gen is our commitment to developing the next generation of colleagues through mentoring, support and involvement in real projects, giving them opportunities to gain experience and progress in their careers.

Over the past 30 years, Stoja has built a broad network of clients, diplomats and business leaders. Today, we are actively expanding that network to include young people with ideas, ambition and a willingness to contribute. We want them to learn alongside experienced colleagues, gradually take on responsibility and show what they can do.

We also support young people through sponsorships and opportunities to build professional connections. What matters to us is that they can put their knowledge into practice and contribute to projects where their work makes a visible difference.

We learn from them, too. Young colleagues bring fresh perspectives, energy and new skills that contribute to Stoja’s development. This creates a working environment where the experience of established professionals meets the ideas of a new generation.

A New Generation in a Changing Real Estate Industry

Zoran identifies housing affordability for young people, limited supply and lengthy construction procedures as important issues for the future of real estate. He also raises the question of how artificial intelligence, digitalisation and the expansion of international real estate brands will influence the role of the real estate agent.

For young people interested in a career in real estate, these changes create room to learn and help develop new ways of working. At Stoja, we want to combine their understanding of new technologies with our team’s experience, knowledge of clients and expertise in property transactions.

Connections That Create Opportunities

WIN Association brings together ambitious individuals and encourages the exchange of business knowledge, experience and opportunities for collaboration. Learn more on the WIN Association website.

Zoran’s appearance at the Ljubljana University Incubator gave us an opportunity to contribute our own story to that exchange. We thank WIN Association and the Ljubljana University Incubator for the conversation and for connecting us with the next generation.

At Stoja, we want to pass on the experience we have gained over three decades and give young people the opportunity to build their own stories alongside us. Together, we are developing Stoja Next Gen - the next generation of the Stoja team.
