The new production hall represents an investment of EUR 21.5 million, enabling Kolektor Etra to increase its production capacity in Serbia and further strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing European energy market.

A significant Slovenian investment in Serbia

Kolektor Etra Beograd currently produces around 70 power transformers per year, while production is expected to increase to approximately 150 units annually by 2030. As part of its continued growth, the company is also planning new jobs and further development investments.

The new production facility in Barajevo, near Belgrade, covers approximately 3,100 square metres and includes modern equipment for the production and handling of power transformers.

The investment is also significant in terms of strengthening economic cooperation between Slovenia and Serbia. Kolektor Etra has been present in Serbia for several years, and the expansion of its production facilities confirms the company’s long-term commitment to development, international growth and strengthening its operations in the region.

The opening was also attended by Zoran Đukić, Director of Ljubljana-based real estate company Stoja Trade.

For Stoja Trade, events of this kind provide an important opportunity to follow economic trends, new investments and developments in the business environment in Slovenia and the wider region. They also offer valuable opportunities to connect with leading representatives of the business community and with companies whose investments have a significant impact on local development, infrastructure and the built environment.

“Successful investments by Slovenian companies abroad demonstrate that local expertise, experience and long-term vision can compete successfully in international markets. Projects of this scale are important for the wider Slovenian economy and for strengthening its visibility throughout the region,” said Zoran Đukić, Director of Stoja Trade.

Energy transition creating new opportunities

Kolektor Etra’s expansion comes at a time of strong growth in demand for energy infrastructure. Electrification, the development of renewable energy sources, the modernisation of electricity grids and the construction of data centres are increasing demand for power transformers across Europe.

The new investment in Serbia will support further production growth in Belgrade while also freeing up capacity at Kolektor Etra’s operations in Ljubljana, where the company is also focusing on the production of larger power transformers.

The opening of the new facilities therefore represents more than a single investment. It is another example of how Slovenian knowledge, capital and industry are successfully connecting with international markets.

For Stoja Trade, which has been active in the Slovenian real estate market for 30 years and works with both domestic and international partners, following economic developments and major investment projects remains an important part of understanding the environment in which new business and real estate opportunities emerge.
