Kresna Night 2026: A Charity Evening Bringing Together Diplomacy, Business and Community
This year's edition was dedicated to the Republic of Kazakhstan, showcasing the country's rich cultural heritage, traditions and contemporary artistic expression. The event was held under the honorary patronage of His Excellency Altay Abibullayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Slovenia.
Supporting Children Through a Meaningful Cause
The central humanitarian purpose of Kresna Night 2026 was to raise funds for the Children's Hospital Šentvid pri Stični, a specialised institution providing medical care and rehabilitation for children and adolescents while supporting their families throughout the recovery process.
During the evening, the organisers presented a €25,000 donation to the hospital, reinforcing the long-standing mission of the Lions Club Ljubljana Iliria to create lasting positive change through community engagement and charitable initiatives.
The event demonstrated how collaboration between businesses, institutions and individuals can make a tangible difference in the lives of children who need it most.
Strengthening International Cooperation
The evening welcomed numerous distinguished guests from the diplomatic community, the business sector and public life. Among them was Dr Aleš Musar, husband of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, who highlighted the importance of humanitarian cooperation, international partnerships and building stronger ties between Slovenia and Kazakhstan.
Guests also enjoyed an exceptional cultural programme featuring performances by the renowned Kazakh ethno-music ensemble QAGAN and the traditional dance group YASSY, alongside an authentic presentation of Kazakh cuisine and hospitality. Together, these elements created a unique atmosphere celebrating friendship, culture and mutual respect.
