The Best of Local Slovenia project celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and is widely recognised as a credible platform highlighting the best local providers in tourism, culture, gastronomy, retail, services, and real estate.
The 2026 edition was record-breaking, with 150,528 valid votes cast for more than 500 selected providers from across Slovenia.
Finalists are selected based on:
- nominations from the local community,
- professional associations and media,
- editorial selection by the organisers.
The final decision is made by the public through open voting. This is why the Best of Local award holds special significance for us – it is built on the trust of people.

Award Ceremony in Ljubljana
The official Best of Local 2026 award ceremony took place on 4 February 2026 at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, during the Alpe-Adria and GASTexpo trade fairs.
More than 350 guests attended the event, where the organisers also presented the selection methodology and a retrospective of the project’s 15-year history.
